荣威W5是上海汽车的首款SUV车型，虽说也是中国首款自主品牌的中高端SUV，但是由于采用非承载式车身设计。外观方面，荣威W5整体设计彰显出力量元素，硕大的尾部设计颇具肌肉感，大号的尾灯设计和前大灯相呼应，同时大尾翼的加入更增添了些动感。

另外“大块头”的身材也超越了不少同级竞争对手，其长宽高分别为4676/1888/1765mm，轴距达到2740mm。针对城市与野外的不同空间需求，特别设计双模式宽适空间。将后排4/6折叠座椅放倒后，既能获得1146L超大行李容积，亦可作为临时小憩的野外行军床，让你在野外依然不失生活品位。

内饰方面，上深下潜的颜色搭配属于目前主流审美。荣威W5的内饰还采用了不对称的设计风格，其中中控台中央控制区域整体向驾驶员侧倾斜，这样的好处是可以让驾驶员更方便的触及中控台上的各项功能按键。配置上，荣威W5配置很丰富。SCS、ESP、HBA、ASR、TCS以及HDC都出现在车上。

顶配车型中还配备RMI多功能信息交互系统，通过6.5寸可触控式液晶屏进行操作及显示。另外可移动式烟灰缸、顶置眼镜盒、后排储物兜等多达26处人性空间分隔，周全考量到驾乘者的每一种专业需求。
