轮胎方面，1.5L车型配备的是205/65R15尺寸轮胎，而1.8L车型则采用205/55R16尺寸轮胎，只是1.8L车型轮毂样式不同。配上不错造型的轮毂，满足日常使用所需的同时也提升了视觉效果，也是把省油和操控两者的定位区分开。

2012款EC7搭载了吉利自主研发的4G18N和4G15N发动机，其中4G18N发动机最大功率为133马力，峰值扭矩可达170牛米；4G15N发动机最大功率为108马力，峰值扭矩达到135牛米。这两款发动机均采用双智能可变凸轮轴正时系统(D-CVVT)技术，具有升功率大、重量轻、体积小、油耗低、转速稳、振动及噪声小、性能稳定等优点，相比老款的CVVT发动机，中低转速扭矩输出更充分，提升了燃油效率，油耗更低。
