VOLVO PV651 生产于1929-1933

第一款六缸沃尔沃发动机在1929年面世了。配备了DB发动机的第一款汽车是PV651。发动机的排量刚刚超过3升，输出功率仅为55 bhp。这是一个动力强劲又灵活的发动机单元，这正是直列六缸技术设计的两项特点。

PV651及其后继者PV652，比之前的沃尔沃汽车都要更长而且更宽。所有四个车轮都标准配备了四轮制动，机械制动（PV551）或者液压制动（PV652）。
