850/S70—叱咤赛道的革新之车
1991年，全新车型沃尔沃850诞生，拥有横置直列5缸发动机、三角连杆后轴、侧撞保护系统和自适应安全带卷轴这4大技术革新。这一部革新之车曾在BTCC英国房车赛摘得多项桂冠。
1996年，850经过升级并更名为S70。S70的外部线条更加柔和、流畅，体现了当时沃尔沃汽车新的设计风格。
