西藏印象·美丽的后藏日喀则

日喀则藏语称“喜噶次”，意为“如意庄园”，位于拉萨以西250多公里的年楚河和雅鲁藏布江汇合处，海拔3800米，面积3875平方公里，总人口8.2万，是西藏第二大城市和宗教中心。至今已有500多年的历史。以藏族为主，有汉、回、蒙古、满等13个民族。1986年经国务院批准撤县建市。历史上称日喀则地区为后藏，而日喀则为后藏的首府，是日喀则地区政治、经济、文化、宗教和交通的中心，也是历代班禅的驻锡地。
