2014年6月10日，中央电视台首支“绿色中国梦”主题公益广告在央视多频道开播。这个公益广告以内蒙古库布其沙漠变绿洲为题材，再现了库布其沙漠里的亿利资源企业、治沙工人和合作农牧民扎根大漠，从一寸一尺，到一米一亩默默植树种草，26年创造出5135平方公里沙漠绿洲的生动场景，反映了库布其治沙人艰苦创业、锲而不舍的奋斗精神，深深的感染和激励了众多观众，沙漠绿洲中国梦经得起看，经得起算。有观众表示，沙漠给我们的印象是黄沙漫漫，死亡之海，根本无法想象库布其人能把沙漠变成绿洲，难度之大堪比铁树开花，库布其沙漠变绿洲给了我们强大的正能量，我们的梦想没有实现不了的。

记者采访到了公益广告片中的两位主人公。一位是亿利资源集团治沙工人张喜旺，他说：“我已经在亿利库布其沙漠种了20年树了，我还能跟上亿利资源治沙种树再干20年”。另一位是亿利资源集团生态工程师麦拉苏，他说：“沙漠的沙子真得很干净，沙漠里能长出地道的甘草药材，长出“老味道”的瓜果，看到最美丽的星星，欢迎全国的观众和网友来库布其分享沙漠变绿洲的中国梦”。
